Joyce Hamelin

Joyce Hamelin lives in Ottawa, with her husband of twenty-five years, Guy and her two boys, Joseph and Jayden. She has already launched her three oldest children, Jenna, Jason and Jocelyne out in to the big, wide world. Joyce is first and foremost a child of God, a sister in Christ and a woman who longs to be a good and faithful servant. She is an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church Kanata and loves her church family deeply. She came to Christ sixteen years ago when God, as He often does, used the wisdom and perseverance of a child to direct Joyce`s path to Christ. ``This is a story for one of my speaking events. She participates as the Women’s Ministries Facilitator at the church and loves to sing with the Worship Team. Professionally, she is a Masters level Social Worker and has been practicing in the Ottawa region for twenty-five years. She has worked with people from pre-birth through to end of life, dealing with issues across the life span. She has been teaching at a local college for ten years as a Professor of Social Sciences and is a facilitator with the Ottawa Pastoral Care Training Program.

Joyce has been a public speaker and workshop leader for many years. She has a heart for women and children and hopes to encourage and support women in the many aspects of their lives, realizing that women are the heart and soul of the family, the home and the community. She is comfortable in both small and large groups. She has spoken to audiences of all age groups, mixed cultures, different religious backgrounds and genders. Some of the topics she has covered are: Women’s Relationships, Women’s Self Worth, Too Much On Your Plate, Conflict Management, Parenting with Love, Grief and Loss, Self-Care, Child Protection in the Church, Working with Special Needs Children in Children’s Ministries...to name but a few.
