Valerie Wilson was led to Christ by her mother when she was four years old. As a young child Valerie wanted to serve the Lord as a missionary. This desire strengthened through her teen years. But then she was challenged to go to Bible College before pursuing nursing training. It was there God burdened her heart for Christian education in the church (and also made it very clear that she was not meant to be a nurse). Valerie was not able to go to the mission field herself, but the work she did for 40 years for Regular Baptist Press as well as her books have gone around the world.
One of Valerie’s favourite subjects is Learning Styles and how they apply to ladies and their relationships. She has also dealt with many Biblical themes and is very open to working with whatever theme a group has for its retreat or event. She has regularly led Ladies' Bible studies and has also spoken at ladies' retreats, workshops, evening meetings as well as mother-daughter luncheons, suppers, or teas.
The Lord has enabled Valerie to be outgoing in public situations, but on her own she tends to be quieter. Her teaching style is both analytic and practical, which mirrors her approach to life. Valerie has never married. Her "children" are the people who have come to Christ through her ministry and her friends' children whom she has loved as her own.
